Vin Puthealy
Project Coordinator
"I started my journey with YoungEco to restore my hope in preserving nature.”
Growing up in suburban areas, I never imagined myself working closely with nature. However, during my foundation year, I began to learn about environmental issues and natural resources while doing research for my assignment. Seeing how serious the issues were made me feel hopeless and angry. Feeling lost and unsure of what I could do, I challenged myself to connect with nature. Eventually, I found out that I enjoy learning about the Mekong River and biodiversity. I knew I wanted to preserve the beauty and wonders of Cambodia's nature, but how?
Working at YoungEco helped me realize that environmental education is crucial for shaping the future of biodiversity across the globe. This is especially true in developing countries like Cambodia, where there is a delicate balance between using natural resources and developing the economy. My experience as a project coordinator at YoungEco is incredibly fulfilling.
I am always excited to share my knowledge and skills with young people through the communication and outreach program. It is an honour to meet and work with dedicated individuals who are committed to making a positive impact. As a country with a diverse range of plants and animals, I believe that it's important to teach the next generation about the importance of protecting the environment.
